Obituary

Annie Marie Svetlik, 57, of Hallettsville, TX, died peacefully in the company of her family on August 12, 2020.  She was born May 25, 1963 to Victor A. and Dorothy Bujnoch Svetlik in Hallettsville.  She was a beloved daughter, godmother, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to her family and a friend to all she met.  Throughout her life Annie faced many struggles, but always kept a smile on her face and some laughter in her heart.  For most of her life, she lived at home with her mom and dad in Hallettsville, Texas.  She was a member of the KJZT Society and a parishioner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth.

Annie was a graduate of Hallettsville High School in 1981.  Following high school, she started work for Circle Y in Yoakum, Texas.  There she was a dedicated and loyal employee for 23 years.  At a younger age Annie loved going to dances with her friends and always looked forward to the family trips to the beach or lake.  She loved family gatherings where she was able to spend time with her siblings, nieces, and nephews whether that be over a game of cards or dominoes together, listening to polka music, going on a hayride to sing Christmas carols, or just sitting around together to catch up with everyone.  Her hobbies included embroidery, assisting Moma in the kitchen, and watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.

Annie is survived by; sister Dorothy A. Etzler & husband Joseph of Hallettsville, sister Doris A. Leopold & husband Paul of Rockdale, brother Victor J. Svetlik & wife Victoria of Rockdale, sister-in-law Marilyn Svetlik of Hallettsville, 6 nieces, 5 nephews, 10 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews, and 1 great-great-nephew.

Annie is preceded in death by; her parents Victor and Dorothy Svetlik, and brother Johnny E. Svetlik.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 10 am, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth; with Rosary starting at 9:30 am; and Visitation starting at 9 am. Pallbearers: Nephews, Paul A. Leopold, Joseph C. Etzler, Kevin P. Etzler, Chase J. Svetlik, and Ethan J. Svetlik; and Nephew-in-law David A. Knesek. Honorary Pallbearers: Annie's nieces: Goddaughter Rose M. Hatcher, Tammy S. Krenek, Roxanne L. Proudley, Renee M. Knesek, Rebecca A. King, and Tracy A. Manning. Officiant: Rev. Dominic Antwi-boasiako. Memorials: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth, Hospice of South Texas or donor's choice. Burial: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Koerth, TX.
