Obituary

Annie J. Henke, 95, of Hallettsville, passed away Dec. 31, 2011. She was born on May 21, 1916 to Frank & Anna Prasek Klekar in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Charlie Henke on Oct. 19, 1937 in Hallettsville. She was a member of KJZT, Catholic Daughters of Americas, Christian Mothers Society, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Annie is survived by: sister Beatrice Mensik of Weimar; sister-in-law Marcella Klekar of Hallettsville; 19 godchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Annie was preceded in death by: her husband Charlie; parents; 3 brothers, Robert, Albert, and Hubert Klekar; 3 sisters, Viola Henke, Victoria Klekar, and Mary Klekar; and godchild Delores Ludwig.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 9:30 am, Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Leo C Henke, Charles F. Henke, Lawrence Henke, Rudy Henke, Dennis Klekar, James Mensik, Anthony Etzler, and Tim Henke. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or School, Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Victoria, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
