Obituary

Angelina Rother, of Hallettsville, received her angel wings at 12:15 pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family following a long illness. She was born on Oct. 6, 1922, to John & Annie Tlopal Vasek Jr. in Raab Switch, Lavaca County, TX. She and her twin brother were the 9th children born to this union and she was the last survivor. She married her life-long love, Herman E. Rother on July 25, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Angelina loved having her family over on Sunday. There was always a big pot of chicken noodle soup for everyone to enjoy along with lots of other trimmings. She did this for many years.

Angelina door was always open to anyone that needed something. She loved to laugh! She was also such a caring person for people in need and would help in any way she could. Angelina loved socializing so much; it's what made her life, along with giving of herself to others. She loved going to Renger's Bar and Patek's Ice House, mainly to socialize.

Angelina was also a very smart woman in business, but chose to be a housewife. She was quick to give advice in business though, if asked. She was a great person to talk to when we all needed those times to vent. She would patiently just sit and listen. Angelina was always concerned about her children's safety and their wellbeing, even at their older ages.

Angelina loved receiving scratch offs for her birthday and Christmas. She would sit at the dining room table and enjoy every minute of scratching her lottery tickets. She loved to watch her birds in the bird bath and her humming birds. Her favorite passion were listing to Country and Polka music and dancing.

Angelina enjoyed the simple things in life and lived a very fulfilling life with her children and grandchildren always around, which meant the world to her.

Angelina is survived by: son Marvin Rother & wife Sharon, 3 daughters, Dorothy Wilson & companion Jimmie Berckenhoff, Charlene Koncaba & husband Charles, and Patsy Pavliska & husband Gary; 2 daughters-in-law, Janet Rother and Mary Ann Rother.
