Obituary

Alvin Carl Lorke, 81, of Hallettsville, passed away April 25, 2012. He was born on August 18, 1930 to Gustav & Annie Laake Lorke in Hallettsville. He retired after 40 years as a carpenter. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and member of the Masonic Lodge.

Alvin is survived by: 2 sons, James and Donald Lorke; daughter Virginia Vela; 3 grandchildren, Olan, William, and Roxanna Trammell; and 2 great grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by: his parents; 3 brothers, Ervin, Alfred, and Victor Lorke; and sister Emmaline Powell.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Donald Lorke, Ervin Lorke, Mike Bozka, Gary Olivarez, Ted Koclanes, and Wesley Kelley. Burial: Mossy Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Charity of Your Choice.
