Alton grew up on the family's farm with his 6 siblings. He attended school at Ezzell and Hallettsville. As the years went by, he and his brother Franklin stayed home caring for their mother and the farm. He continued farming and ranching until his stroke on Jan. 23, 2003. The stroke took away his ability to speak and walk. He remained in Hallettsville Nursing & Rehabilitation, where he was treated with tender loving care by all the staff and caretakers, until his passing.

Alton is survived by: 3 brothers, Franklin Klimitchek, Carl Klimitchek & wife Patsy, both of Hallettsville, and O'Daniel Klimitchek & wife Jeanie of Lolita; sister Dorothy Horton of Hallettsville; 2 sister-in-laws, Rose Klimitchek of Dayton and Joyce Klimitchek of Hallettsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alton was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Richard Sr. and Jesse Klimitchek; brother-in-law Wayne Horton Sr.; and nephew Wayne Horton Jr.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers: David Klimitchek, Randy Klimitchek, Kenneth Klimitchek, Travis Klimitchek, Richard Klimitchek Jr., Dwayne Klimitchek, Frankie Klimitchek, and Welby Horton. Honorary Pallbearers: his nieces, nephews and hunting buddies. Memorials: American Heart Association or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Hallettsville.
