Alton Joe Grahmann, 74, of Hallettsville, passed away on June 26, 2020.  He was born on November 9, 1945 to Joe A.J. and Bessie Kolacny Grahmann in Shiner.  He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hallettsville.

He served in the Texas National Guard and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2433 of Hallettsville where he was a long-time membership director and recently named an Honorary Life Member.

Alton was a part-owner and operator of Hallettsville Hardware and Auto Supply for 56 years where he made many friends in the community.  He loved to talk to his customers and people at the restaurants and coffee shops around town.  He also enjoyed visiting with people at the church picnics throughout the area.  He loved cars and always kept his vehicles clean and in good shape.

Although Alton had no children of his own, he was especially proud of his nephews, Christopher and David Belcik and he enjoyed seeing and visiting with them.

Alton is survived by:  his sister Patricia Belcik & husband Patrick; two nephews, Christopher Belcik and David Belcik & wife Tamara; and a great-nephew, Klein Belcik all of Hallettsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thank you to the staff at Hallettsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for caring for Alton the past several years, and thank you to the staff at Hospice of South Texas for their assistance these last few months.

Funeral Mass Service: 1:30 pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 1 pm. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Christopher Belcik, David Belcik, Hilbert Henke, Dale Janak, Bruce Bludau, and Ron Kolacny. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Knights of Columbus Hall renovation, Sacred Heart Catholic Church/School, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
