Mrs. Alma "Tooter" Appelt, 87, of Hallettsville, died March 19, 2007. She was born on Jan. 14, 1920 to Mike J. & Alma Bonorden Brocker Sr. She married Albert "Bub" Appelt Jr. on July 30, 1943 in Hallettsville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Tooter is survived by: 2-sons, Richard L. Appelt & wife Donna of Victoria, and Larry J. Appelt & wife Judy of Hallettsville; daughter Mildred Sitka of Victoria; brother Mike J. Brocker Jr. of Hallettsville; 2-sisters, Josephine Dennison of Hallettsville, and Iona Gray of Hallettsville; 7 grandchildren, Sheri Montgomery, Amy Appelt, Rhonda Lockley, Rick Appelt, Derek Appelt, Kelli Appelt, and Scott Appelt; and 4-great-grandchildren.

Tooter was preceded in death by: husband Albert "Bub"; son Michael W. Appelt; daughter Fayenell Appelt; parents Mike J. & Alma Bonorden Brocker Sr.; and son-in-law Leon Sitka.

Service: 10am, Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 3pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home, and 9:30am, Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sheri Montgomery, Amy Appelt, Rhonda Lockley, Rick Appelt, Derek Appelt, Kelli Appelt, and Scott Appelt. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or Hallettsville Rehabilitation Center.
