Mrs. Alice Martha Woods, 92, of Hallettsville, died Feb. 23, 2007. She was born on Jan. 20, 1915 to Adolph & Emilia Stanzel Haas in Lavaca County. She married W.P. Woods on April 29, 1939 in Hallettsville. She was a member of KJZT, Hermann & Sons, Catholic Daughters of Americas, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Alice is survived by: sister Mildred Wasserbauer; 1-sister-in-law; and numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by: husband W.P. on March 10, 1975; parents Adolph & Emilia Stanzel Haas; 2-brothers, Herbert Haas and Milton Haas Sr.; 4-sisters, Natalie Brown, Emilie Schroeder, Falton Haas, and Anita Havel.

Service: 11 am, Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Rosaries: 6 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home, and 10:30 pm, Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Milton Haas III, David Wasserbauer, David Haas, Jeffery Brown, William Grahmann, and Anton E. Havel. Honorary Pallbearers: Leon Schroeder, Nathan Haas, Nichols Haas, Anthony Petru, Patrick Petru, Johnny Havel, and Elrose Baumgart. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
