Obituary

Alice A. Henrichs, 96, of Hallettsville, passed away March 20, 2022.  She was born on November 30, 1925, to August & Olga Riske Mueller, in Lavaca County, Texas.  She was baptized at Witting Lutheran Church at Witting, Texas, on April 1, 1926, by Rev. G. Sneff.  She was confirmed at Witting Lutheran Church, on May 5, 1940, by Rev. Elmer Jacobs.  She married to Leroy Hugo Henrichs, on April 15, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church of Moulton, Texas, by Rev. K. Windecker.  She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Alice loved to cook and bake.  She was the master of homemade lemon pie. Every one who knew her would ask her to bake them a lemon pie for their party.  She also loved to dance and have a good time.  She never knew a stranger and always had a smile on her face for everyone.

Alice worked along side with her husband Leroy, on the farm till she started to work in town.  Her first job was at Perry's Brothers.  She worked there for 15 years.  Then she helped at the Tomato Shed, grading tomatoes and cucumbers till all hours of the night.

Alice also worked at Klekar's Washhouse, alongside Sidonia Klekar, for a number of years.  She enjoyed working with Sidonia, and every day they would split a hamburger from Dairy Queen for lunch.  They always had fun together.

Alice loved her family and enjoyed seeing them whenever she could, especially the great great grandbabies.  She spent her last years at, 7 years at Stevens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and 1 year at Hallettsville Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Alice is survived by:  daughter Patsy Klekar (Leon) of Hallettsville; daughter-in-law Kay Henrichs of Hallettsville; 4 granddaughters, Sandy Beyer & fiancé Elbert, Amy Foster & Lonnie, Brenda Henrichs & boyfriend Daryl, and Courtney Henrichs & fiancé Bob, all of Hallettsville; grandson Christopher Klekar & Erin of Shiner;  10 great grandchildren, Brailyn Jalufka & Mason, Dylan Beyer & fiancée Cheyenne of Cuero, Jase Gaitan & girlfriend Lindsey of Hallettsville, Addyson, Chloe, Kadence, Dalton & girlfriend Inez of College Station, Ellasyn, Conway and Kerringan; 2 great great grandchildren, Kauner and Laila; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by; her husband Leroy, son Roy Henrichs and Parents.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, March 25, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home with Prayer Service starting at 7 pm. Officiant: Pastor Jared Stillions. Pallbearers: Curtis Henrichs, Weldon Eggert, Lonnie Foster, Chris Klekar, Cody Klekar, Gary Teltschik and Kauner Jalufka. Honorary Pallbearers: great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Burial: Witting Cemetery. Memorials: St. Peter Lutheran Church, Witting Cemetery or donor's choice.
