Alfonse Raymond Peters, 82, of Hallettsville, on October 30, 2020, loving husband and father entered into his eternal reward..  He was born on August 2, 1938, to Raymond & Libbie (Hermis) Peters, in Praha, TX.  He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann (Joy) Peters on August 11, 1960, just celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Alfonse (Sonny), as he was known by his nieces, nephews and friends was known for his sense of humor and good-hearted nature.  There wasn't a person in need who he would not give a helping hand to assist.  Sonny was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed his membership with the Hallettsville American Legion Council where he had numerous friends. His pastime hobbies were hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Alfonse is survived by:  wife Elizabeth; two children, daughter Libbie & Donnie Tabola of Smithville and son Gary & Jennifer Peters of Shiner; 6 grandchildren, Vicky, Ashley & Brittney Tabola, and Stevie-Nicole, Sarah & Elliott Peters; 5 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Judy (Charlie-deceased) Majek of Corpus Christi, Leona (Doug – deceased) Grant of Corpus Christi and Georgia & Newell Rambo of Needville.

Alfonse was preceded in death by; his parents, and sister Delores Huddleston & her spouse Jeff Huddleston.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 11:30 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, TX; with Rosary starting at 11 am; and Visitation starting at 10 am. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
