Obituary

Agnes Hlavac Holik, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away Oct. 20, 2013. She was born on Jan. 26, 1920 to John & Veronika Muhlstein Hlavac in Lavaca County, TX. She married Willie J. Holik on Oct. 27, 1941 in Hallettsville. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Agnes & Willie made their home in Hallettsville, and together they shared 55 years of ranching and farming. Agnes was a resident at Stevens Convalescent Center since 2007.

Agnes' hobbies included playing dominoes, baking, cooking, canning, and making molasses. She enjoyed picking pecans, feedings her fish and setting out trot lines. She took pleasure in raising her fryer and pigs on the farm for food.

Agnes is survived by: son Marvin Holik & wife Monica of Hallettsville; 3 daughters, Delores Grahmann & husband Lawrence of Hallettsville, Nancy Pavlik & husband Leroy of Weimar, and Joyce Svetlik & husband Leon of Shiner; brother Lado Hlavac of Hallettsville; 3 sister-in-laws, Marjorie Hlavac of Rosenberg, Frances Sciba of Hallettsville, and Lucille Bujnoch of Hallettsville; 8 grandchildren, Douglas Grahmann & wife Sherri of Hallettsville, Glenda Svetlik & husband Ben Jr. of Victoria, Jason Grahmann & wife Laura of Victoria, Deanna Holik of Little Elm, David Holik & wife Robbie of Hallettsville, Holly Holik of Hallettsville, Connie Pavlik & boyfriend Brad Allen of McKinney, and Shannon Pavlik and fiancé Mike Hyman of Conroe; and 8 great grandchildren, Tyler & Cole Grahmann of Hallettsville, Logan Holik of Hallettsville, Shelby Pavlik of Conroe, Kaylee & Kyle Svetlik of Victoria, and Jenna & Taylor Grahmann of Victoria.

Agnes was preceded in death by: Husband Willie; parents; granddaughter Bonnie Grahmann; 4 brothers, Willie, Johnnie, Franklin, and Raymond Hlavac; and 5 sisters, Alma Brosch, Albina Hlavac, Vlasta Holik, Annie Boehm, and Mary Lee Zappe.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Douglas Grahmann, Jason Grahmann, Ben Svetlik Jr., David Holik, Tyler Grahmann, Logan Holik, Larry Hlavac, and Gilbert Mican. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
